Handheld Optical Power Meter
Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released a handheld optical power meter which is a compact and easy-to-use test instrument with a wide dynamic range. Used together with GAO's 5205 handheld optical light source, it provides a quick and accurate testing solution for both single mode and multimode fibers. This optical power meter is suitable for fiber network installation, acceptance testing and maintenance and belongs to GAO’s Power Meter family of products.
This handheld optical power meter, model 5306, displays optical power in mw, dB and dBm and provides calibrated wavelengths of 850, 1300, 1310, 1550, 1490, and 1625 nm. It features automatic wavelength identification and switching, automatic frequency identification, intelligent backlight control, low battery indication and automatic self calibration function. This optical power meter has a large memory capacity of up to 1000 test records and communicates with a computer via USB port for data exchange. It is powered by AC adapter or alkaline batteries that provide 200 hours of continuous operation. Extremely low power consumption allows extended operation in the field. In addition, FC, ST and SC adapters are available.
