Most visitors of Malaysia look toward to go to Kuala Lumpur, colonial Cameron Highlands or to the hedonistic island of Langkawi. The island of East Malaysia is rich in wildlife, long wigwams and the fearsome Mount Kinabalu. Malaysia is one of the most beautiful countries in Southeast Asia. It has a multi-faceted culture and traditions, based on a bright and interesting mixture of Malay, Chinese, Indian and local cultures and customs.
When to go to Malaysia
Hot and humid weather in Malaysia stays all year round, so no matter when you go there will always be sunny and humid. It is better to refrain from visiting during the rainy season from November to January on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, if you like beach holidays. Turtles on the east coast can be seen from May to September.
Kuala - Lumpur the capital of Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur is the Asian roaring tiger: for 130 years it has become a modern, bustling city with a population of nearly 2 millions. Feel an ambitious triumph of the city on the observation deck of the tallest building and explore the depth of the culture in the alleys of Chinatown. During periods of rise in Kuala Lumpur there occurred an intriguing connection of architecture throughout the city; elegant colonial buildings contrast with modern high-rise buildings, such as the Petronas Twin Towers. Add turmoil to the numerous street markets and you will see a city that is worth exploring.
Cameron Highlands in Malaysia
Cameron Highlands is located in the center of Peninsular Malaysia and has a number of high-altitude points from 1500 to 1800 m (4920 and 5904 feet). This fertile region is the center of the tea industry in Malaysia and a place where locals and tourists come to take refuge from high temperatures on the plains. Activities include walks through the jungle, waterfalls, tours to tea plantations, beautiful gardens and lots of wildflowers. Cool weather favors golf, tennis games, hiking, walks and this is undoubtedly the capital of rock 'n' roll in Malaysia, mainly for those who do not like beaches and enjoy meeting with colonial nostalgia. Most budget hotels are located in the village of Tanah Rata. More expensive ones are scattered between Tanah Rata and Brinchang.
