The church is not effective, marriages continue to fail at an alarming rate, children are getting worse as morals continue to decline and the church is acting as though it is doing a good job. I would say it is failing at the task God gave it at an alarming rate and needs to wake up!
Pastor Bob Wagner says he has had enough. The church is just going through the motions. Communities are not getting better, depression, bankruptcy and divorce are just as high among Christians as non-Christians if not higher and youth and young adults are leaving the faith faster then ever and what is the church doing? Serving donuts and juice! Whose to blame? Pastor Wagner says it is the pastors and leaders of the church who are responsible for its condition. "We need to get our act together and get serious about our task because Christians are losing the battle fast. All you have to do is look around; anyone can see that what the church is doing in America is not working. The prosperity message has been preached for years but bankruptcy is higher than ever. Love and relationships are talked about almost every Sunday but 56% of all Christian Marriages end in divorce. (Higher than non-Christians). Trust in the Lord, His Comfort and Peace are preached, taught and even sung about, but depression is at an all time high. Some mainline denominations are losing over 800 members a week. Can't we see that what we are doing is not working?
Pastor Wagner says that some people can grasp something easy the first time it is spoken about while others need a 2x4 up side their head. "This book is my 2x4!"
He knows he will get some nasty grams; "Even though the book may upset some folks, I am certain that if people take the time to look at what I am saying, they will realize that I am right. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell a rocket is broke when all it does is make a lot of noise and never leaves the ground." he explains.
