Petitude Supports German Shorthaired Pointers Club

Contributed by petitude on Thursday, June 10 @ 07:18:07 EDT

Petitude donates a FUN and VALUE pet travel soft crate, which will be used as grand prize for the highest level of competition.

After its successful sponsorship of Pets Haven’s Silent Auction and Trivia Night in May, Petitude online pet store supports another Australia dog organisation event, the German Shorthaired Pointers Club of SA’s annual Retrieving Trial which will be held in Blanchetown, South Australia on June 12, 2010.

The GSP Club of SA is an organization of German Shorthaired Pointer owners and breeders that hosts many events and fun days each year and promotes several advocacies focused on the dog breed. German Shorthaired Pointers or GSPs are active intelligent dogs who excel in many disciplines such as retrieving, agility, sled racing, obedience, and most of all they make fantastic family pets.

For GSP Club of SA’s Retrieving Trial event, Petitude donates a 91cm pet travel soft crate, which will be used as grand prize for the All Age competition (the highest level of competition).

Petitude online pet store, well known for its FUN and VALUE pet products, carries wide selection of travel crates for pet dogs and cats. Petitude crates are highly desirable for their lightweight, functionality, portability and ease of setting up. With this item, crate training can be fun. Car travels with your dog is no longer a big task and outings can be done with much more fun and style! The crate can also be used as dog's safe haven, a place where Fido retreats and feels safe, which makes controlling and containing him easy and stress-free. It is an ideal product for pet shows, travel, day-outs, camping, and as well as indoor use.

The retrieving trial competition will be conducted both on land and in or through water. This competition will determine the participants’ relative merits in the field under conditions which emulate as closely as possible for those which would be found whilst shooting, but at the same time bring the work of each dog within an ambit of equality where assessment may be fairly made. The Retriever’s role is to seek and retrieve fallen game. When ordered to do so, a dog should retrieve quickly and briskly without unduly disturbing too much ground and should deliver, tenderly to hand. He should then await further orders.

In recent years, the GSP Club of SA’s trials had been held on the June long weekend along the Murray River at Blanchetown. The Club receives entries from not only South Australia, but also from Victoria, New South Wales and sometimes even Western Australia. There are three levels of competition: the Novice, the Restricted, and the All Age. All breeds of Gundogs are eligible to compete in these trials.
