While briefing the media here today, Mr. Paul Barletta, V.P. Marketing of Premier Health Care said that soaring costs of medical care in US prompted them to introduce Dental – Vision discount card to their members. Generally, health care plans for individuals and families did not cover dental care (unless caused by an accident), eyeglasses, contact lenses or hearing aids .Dental-Vision Discount Card helped the members to cut the costs for those services, he said.
He also further added, “The entire family of the members can take advantage of the savings. When the member presents his card to a participating dental or eyewear provider, he gets discount ranging from 10% to 50% depending on the products, they buy. Discounts of up to 50% on eye examinations and surgical procedures including Lasik are also available”.
He also further added, “The Dental-Vision Discount Card is not a health insurance policy. The plan provides discounts at certain health care providers of medical services. Discount varies based on the provider, location and actual service. The plan does not make payment directly to the providers of medical services and the benefit is directly passed on to the discount card holder”.
