Leading car hire price comparison website publishes outstanding results, 50% above projections
21 May 2009 – Though the economic landscape shows no signs of picking up, Carrentals.co.uk, the leading car hire price comparator, has announced that revenues have exceeded more than 50% above estimated targets for Q1 2009. The website is also reporting a 30% rise in year on year revenues.
The online player continues to enjoy consistent growth and Carrentals.co.uk has created more than £16m in revenues from car hire business for the year up to January 2009.
From its launch in the year 2003 as a car rental provider, Carrentals.co.uk subsequently re-branded itself to become a car hire price comparator in 2007. From there the company was able to win Best Car Hire Website at the 2008 Travolution Awards plus the Best Ski Car Rental in the 2008/09 Good Ski Guide Oscars.

Carrentals.co.uk can list value for money deals from up to 35 top name car hire providers from more than 9,000 locations thanks to a business model called CPA (cost per acquisition). CPA lets more and more providers list on the website because they do not need to pay for the privilege like they do with the pay-per-click method.
Hitwise, the Internet monitoring company creates lists of the most used UK sites, in which Carrentals.co.uk usually rates highly among car hire websites. The company ranked fifth in a recent table with almost 5% of UK web traffic*. Carrentals.co.uk also enjoys regular repeat business to levels of 15%.

Visitors to the site can search and compare the best deals on car hire, before transferring to the supplier’s site to make their booking.
