Joseph’s Lite Cookies Not Affected by U.S. Peanut Butter Recall
Florida, January 28, 2009 – As a result to the U.S. peanut butter alert Joseph Semprevivo, Ceo and President of Joseph's Lite Cookies released the following statement to their customers Distributors, and Retailers.
Joseph’s Lite Cookies wants to unequivocally assure you, that our peanut butter and/or products made with peanut butter are not involved in the supply chain recall.
We appreciate and understand your concerns about the most recent salmonella outbreak, which may be linked to certain peanut butter products. We would like you to know that our strict adherence to GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), combined with our continuous testing and sampling practices, ensure that any and all products processed and manufactured exceed FDA requirements. Our laboratory testing is provided by Silliker Laboratories, a recognized certified independent laboratory.
We have all Microbial lab reports for all of our peanut butter products on file for the last two years and all products tested negative for the following:
1. Alpha Toxin
2. E Coli
3. Salmonella
4. Aerobic Plate Count
5. Coliform
6. Yeast
7. Mold
About Joseph’s Lite Cookies
Joseph Semprevivo was born November 1, 1971 in a small New Jersey town. At six years old, Joseph relocated to Deming, New Mexico, USA. At the age of nine, he was diagnosed with diabetes and by age 12, he created the first sugar free ice cream on the market. At 15 (1986) the fructose-sweetened Joseph's Cookies and brownies were released into the mass market.
On a mission to share his creation with other diabetics, he started by visiting local stores and speaking with apprehensive store managers. Store by store, city by city, state by state, Joseph steadily grew his business.
In the mid-90's, along with thousands of independent stores, Kroger and Whole Foods became clients and secured a bright future.
