The Baski programme which is to be developed in a transnational cooperation, shall put people with profound and severe disabilities in a position to strengthen their ability to act and therefore actively organise their life and surroundings. The interaction between the Basic Skills Training and the accompanied coaching of social institutions is a central aim of the project. The Basic Skills Training Model shall on the one hand support the target group of people with learning or multiple disabilities by stimulating a process of development so that they are able to live a self-determined life, and on the other hand serve and accompany institutions in the disability sector (sheltered workshops and assisted living) who care for the target group. The project involves eight organisations from different member states. Apart from e-ISOTIS, also following organisations participate: Life-Help Graz and surroundings (LebensHilfe Coordinator)-Austria, Institute of Work and Technology-Germany, Association of Disabled for the Environment Support-Poland, Dia Sport Association-Bulgaria, Hungarian Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities-Hungary, Integr@point Research-Austria, and Hermes-Greece.
e-ISOTIS (Information Society Open To ImpairmentS) is a non-profit making organisation founded in December 2002, working closely with People with Disabilities, Elderly, their spouses as well as members of the ICT (Information Communication Technology) community, worldwide.
