James Brister will attempt to enter into the Guinness Book of World Records by playing guitar continuously for 50 hours on Friday, January 27 beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Kenner’s Rivertown Heritage Park in the 400 block of Williams Blvd.
Kenner, LA – Guitarist James Brister will attempt to enter into the Guinness Book of World Records by playing guitar continuously for 50 hours on Friday, January 27 beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Kenner’s Rivertown Heritage Park in the 400 block of Williams Blvd.
The attempt is to raise funds via cash donations. The donations will go to the New Orleans Chapter of the Red Cross and to the Kenner Disaster Relief Fund.
James is one of thousands affected by the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Although his home was spared devastation from the floods, some of his family members were not as fortunate, leaving James wondering what he could do to help others in similar situations.
Even though his is a familiar Katrina story, James now sees light at the end of the hurricane tunnel. So he's turned to helping others -- and what better way than raising money for the New Orleans Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Kenner Disaster Relief Fund by doing what he loves to do in his spare time: play guitar.
The goal is to raise cash donations for those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita along the Gulf Coast. Stop by Rivertown in Kenner to make your cash contributions for those less fortunate than yourself. Who knows? You might just experience history in the making while making a difference in the world around you.
