Attention Fishermen: The Cure For The Summertime Blues

The "Dog Days" of summer have arrived. Durring the intense heat and thunderstorms of the mid-summer months, fishing tends to slow down and many anglers turn to other activities until the onset of fall.

Outdoor writer, Kelly Hoban and staff fishing guide, John Whelan offer a ray of hope to recreational anglers through two of their most recent articles, "Fishing The Fronts" and "Summertime Blues".

The article, "Fishing The Fronts" shows anglers how they can still experience good fishing after a storm front. Kelly and John are fishing for Largemouth Bass in this article, showing how they caught them just prior to a storm front. After the storm had moved through, they went back to the same area they had just fished before, and continued to catch trophy sized bass by making slight changes to their lure presentations.

Their most recent article "Summertime Blues" shows anglers how to locate and catch jumbo-sized Bluegill. These "sunfish of size" are one of the best eating fish there is, and put up a great fight on light tackle.

Both of these articles can be viewed on the internet

Kelly Hoban serves as webmaster and field reporter for the website. He has been an avid angler for over forty years. He has also been a former tournament angler, radio personality, and marketing agent for several manufacturers in the fishing industry. "I like to write for the weekend angler and their families. Fishing is a great way to bring the familly together"

John Whelan is a seasoned guide and successful tournament angler based in Apple Valley, MN.
John serves as field guide and youth coordinator for Protackle.Net. He is largely responsible for the involvement of Protackle.Net in fishing seminars with various youth groups and fishing clubs including the Boy Scouts of America, and the Minnesota Jaycees. He also has a lot to do with putting Kelly on the fish.

Protackle.Net features a new article by Kelly Hoban each month, in addition to offerings from other professional anglers from all over the internet.
Kelly's articles are written specifically for the internet. "They stay short and to the point showing pictures and illustrations with a little humor mixed in" says John. "He just makes you want to go out and do it. Thats why Protackle, and Kelly are becoming so popular on the web."
