Dacoll Group & Adam Continuity Create Strategic Alliance
The Scottish IT Services company Dacoll Ltd, headquartered
in Bathgate West Lothian and with branches in Aberdeen, Inverness, Crewe, Birmingham
and London has recently formed a commercial alliance with Adam Continuity of
Thatcham in Berkshire.
Adam has been in the Business Continuity arena since 1993 providing 100% reliable
business continuity and disaster recovery support. They now have locations in
Thatcham, Berkshire and Greenford, Middlesex and have enjoyed a recent lease
of life through a realignment of management and refocusing onto their core business.
Allying Dacoll’s 35 years of providing top quality IT support
to the expertise available from Adam has created a UK wide service deliverable.
Dacoll provide a national footprint for Adam which rivals the current DR suppliers,
many of whom have been swallowed up by the large American conglomerates and
are focusing purely on the large workspace orientated deals. Alan Dawson, DR
Product Manager believes that there are many more SME customers out there who
badly need to create some business contingency for themselves by protecting
their IT infrastructure and data integrity.
Dawson: “Most businesses these days who use IT to any extent realise that they
need to plan for IT related downtime, whether caused hardware failure or a more
serious event like a fire or burglary. We can offer entry level solutions via
workarea, ship-in hardware or even software options, at prices that even the
smallest companies can afford. While we have a wealth of experience in providing
IT support, working with Adam gives us access to Business Continuity expertise
and infrastructure that would have taken us many years to create”.
Tim Allaston – High Availability Director with Adam says: “Working with Dacoll
allows us access to engineering support of the highest quality in the north
of the UK where we have customers but no offices, and we can work together to
optimise the use of the floorspace available in Dacoll’s many offices. Small
workarea for key personnel is what most businesses need – maximum 10 or 20 key
people working with replicated hardware and comms provides a realistic alternative
in the case of a disaster. We can now comfortably offer this UK wide”.
Dacoll has also taken on some of the service delivery required by Adam’s Scottish
customer base including the Royal Bank of Scotland and JP Morgan Chase, and
conversely many of the Dacoll customer base have already expressed an advanced
interest in Business Continuity Options.
Dacoll has enjoyed over 35 years of prosperity working with loyal customers
of sometimes nearly 30 years standing e.g. Aberdeen University have been a valued
client since 1975, Wolseley Centres for 20 years, and Scottish Ambulance Service
and Thames Valley Police for over 15 years.
