The three instructors also teach classes for children aged 4 to 8 years of age. These special classes are strongly based upon games which improve hand/eye coordination, balance, timing and focus as well as respect for themselves and others.
Ray, Mari and Geovanny teach the most popular form of karate in Japan, Wado Ryu, which includes the control techniques of jujutsu, aikido, kenjutsu and judo such as locks, throws, sweeps, breakfalls and floor work as well as the traditional kicks and hand strikes.
Students learn self-defence and get fit, whilst also working on the seven aspects of character of a karateka: Respect, Humility, Honesty, Responsibility, Courtesy, Integrity and Equanimity.
