New service helps businesses beat the postal price rise

02/04/09: A company director concerned at the impact of the impending rise in postal charges on small businesses has launched a new service that allows them to keep on communicating with prospects and customers at the ‘old’ prices.
Guy Chatburn, managing director of Midlands-based Send Marketing says that Royal Mail’s decision to increase the price of second class stamps by 11% is placing an unnecessary burden on small businesses at a time when staying in touch is more important than ever.
The price hike will see 3p added to the price of a stamp, taking second class to 30p for a standard letter weighing up to 100g, up from the previous 27p.
In response, Guy has launched a service that allows business to beat the price rise and reduce their in house mailing administration costs. The service, which is available exclusively at www.27p.co.uk, includes not only second class postage but also a laser printed letter, a C5 envelope, folding and enclosure – all for only 27p each, the old cost of a second class stamp.
