World Stock HCS Worldwide Europe Tops US Stock Market in Value
Europe has eclipsed the US in stock market according to studies by “HCS Worldwide”.
In what “HCS Worldwide” believe to be another sign of the weakening dominance of American capital markets in relation to the rest of the world, for the first time since the 1940s, the European stock market has overtaken the US stock market in value.
According to a recent report by European “HCS Worldwide”, Europe’s 24 stock-markets, including Russia and emerging Europe, saw their capitalization increase at the end of last week, causing the value of the European market to exceed that of the US market.
A source at “HCS Worldwide” believes that the rise of the euro against the dollar, growth of east European markets such as Russia and stock market outperformance spurred by improving profitability have all contributed to Europe closing a long-held gap with the US.
A senior analyst at “HCS Worldwide” reportedly commented that this marked a big shift in market values.
