The new profiles will offer richer features in cellphones and PDAs

MindTree Consulting, a leading provider of Bluetooth® technology Intellectual Property (IP) and solutions announced the availability of two Bluetooth wireless technology application profiles – the Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) and the Basic Printing Profile (BPP).

PBAP is much richer than the Bluetooth Object Push Profile (that is used to push vCard formatted phonebook entry from one device to another). It helps exchange a wide variety of matter such as contacts, call information, text messages, alarms and calendar information, adding an extra dimension to hands-free cell phone usage. For the first time, MindTree’s BPP will allow users of cell phones and PDAs to wirelessly print text emails, short messages, calendar items, phone book items and formatted documents.
