Singapore, October 19, 2009 -- Eagle Eye Centre welcomes Dr. Chng Wai Nee on board as the Director of Aesthetic and Comprehensive Opthalmic Surgeries.
Dr. Chng graduated with Honours in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and National University of Ireland in 1993. Some highlights of his career achievements include receiving the Gold Medal from The Children’s Hospital, the French O’Carroll Medal for Best Essay, and the Best Research Paper Award for Singapore Malaysia Ophthalmology Meeting.
Over the years, Dr. Chng has accumulated a wealth of experience and recognition in his field. He was responsible for establishing the Wet Laboratory Training Facility in the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), where he completed his Advanced Surgical Training. He has also been invited as Guest Lecturer at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
To date, Dr. Chng holds Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, College of Surgeons in Hong Kong, and the Academy of Medicine in Singapore. He also attended Yale University for a year, holds a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and specialised in Ophthalmology for his Masters in Medicine from the National University of Singapore. Dr Chng has gained full-certification from the International Council of Ophthalmology.
