“Dos Etapas” (UFL-Verdad y Justicia) contains 10 original songs all written by Lopez with the collaboration in 3 songs by writer composer Leo Muñoz.
The first single will be released to radio on march.. Most of the songs were written years ago while the artist was still developing his career.
“It was very intense process for me to write songs. I worried thinking that nothing was going to come out of my head” comments the Colombian producer, guitarist, singer and composer Lopez. The results seem to contradict what the artist thinks.
Lopez worked with different musicians of the New York/New Jersey area . Lopez is the producer, Leo Muñoz is co-producer . “Lopez has surprised with this type of work and creativity . “Dos Etapas” is excellent states experienced Ric Fazecas, Vice President of Verdad y Justicia. “This artist knows what he wants, and does what he knows . It is an honor to work with an artist with so much potential”.
Several of the musicians from his previous projects participated in this recording, among them Omar Florez and Bryan barranchina who arranged most of the vocals and back up vocals, Pedro Alemany, a friend from his old band Santajuana, recorded some of the bass and guitars, and also Four new musicians: drummer Bob Ramos and Martin quintero, Acordionist Pedro Rogers and his brother Orlando rogers.Percussion was arranged and play by Leo Muñoz. As he always does Lopez plays the electric and acoustic guitars on all the songs as well as keyboards and pianos.
Lopez writes his songs with the help of his piano. The melodies usually come first and the elaborate process of writing the lyrics goes through several phases before he shows the song to anyone.“Dos Etapas” has high doses of pop rock with the original fusion of Latin American rhythms, specially from Colombia. It includes two powerful ballads, several up-tempo tracks – ten amazing songs that surprise with their rhythm, beautiful melody, poetry and musical form.
Original and simple, the themes deal with personal relationships, love, and the urban aspects of society. Life, death, family, survival, hope and solitude are the basic elements recurrent throughout this composer’s innovative language.
Lopez put the final touches on these compositions within the four walls of his small basement studio at home. Long daily sessions for the last nine months served to perfect the songs during a rigorous and often-times lonely pre-production process Lopez goes through before letting anyone listen. “Dos Etapas” is what I live, what I love, my love, my family, my music, my passion, my guitar, my memories, my doubts, it is what I suffer and want.
Lopez will start his new concert tour in March 2006 and during the next three months will focus on the intense promotion of “Dos Etapas” in United States.
