On February 4th The Ultimate Fighting Championship® announced that it will hold its first official UFC event in California, when it presents UFC 59 Reality Check at the Anaheim Pound, on Saturday, April 15th, 2006. Dana White has been quoted as saying, ““We are pleased to announce that, after years of waiting, the UFC is finally coming to California. We are looking forward to making our official debut with UFC 59 at the Arrowhead Pond, an event that brings one of our best light heavyweight fighters, Tito Ortiz, back into the Octagon™ and against one of our most popular UFC fighters Forrest Griffin.” The UFC® has an all star line up prepared for this anticipated event, soon to hit Orange County by storm.
The ever popular post fight party will be held at the National Sports Grill & Bar, Anaheim, located not a stone’s throw away from the pond. In the past, the National Sports Bar has held an array of events including the World Series party for the Angels, various parties for the Mighty Ducks and many Super cross event parties. With UFC 59 coming to the notorious Orange County, the after party is a guaranteed night to be had by all. For this special night the National Sports Grill & Bar and the UFC will be collaborating with PimpIT.com, a major player in the nightlife scene and massive internet company who has made their presence known in the OC. This is definitely a night you do not want to miss, with Huntingdon Beach’s bad boy Tito Ortiz along with Team Punishment and the increasingly popular Forrest Griffin making appearances, who wouldn’t want to be in Orange County? The parties in the past have housed an open bar, so expect a no holds bar through the night, as well as imported DJ’s, live bands and scandalously clothed girls. This will be an extravagant night with the who’s who of the OC.
